Daily care & preventative maintenance
Caring for your tile floors couldn't be easier! You can sweep, wet mop, dry mop, and vacuum as needed. You should also incorporate some preventative maintenance, starting with investing in entryway mats to capture dirt before it can get on your floors. Additionally, consider placing furniture on floor protectors and take great care not to drag or drop objects when moving any heavy items across your flooring. While tile is tough and durable, it's not impervious to scratching.
Dealing with spills
When you find a spill or stain on your tile, you can simply wipe it away with a clean, dry cloth. Make sure your tile is dry afterwards, as ceramic and porcelain tile can be extremely slippery when wet. If you need to use any cleaning products, make sure they have been approved by your tile manufacturer and that they are compatible with your floor’s grout. Never use a product that contains acids, vinegar, chlorine, or ammonia, as these chemicals can damage or discolor grout or the surface of your tile itself.
